Meet Rachel Newkirk : Team Compliance and Systems Specialist

Rachel Newkirk grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts where she began working on her 16th birthday and over the years has worked a myriad of positions, from a YMCA Camp Counselor to Grill Cook for a few years and on the Film Crew at one of the largest AMC Theatres in Massachusetts, where she remained through college learning every position available.
After receiving her Associates in Business from Northern Essex Community College Rachel she transferred into the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and received her Bachelors in Business Management & Marketing with a 3.69 GPA and Magna Cum Laude status. While in college Rachel Interned with The Elliot Group, a boutique executive search firm specializing in C-Suite placements. It was here that she mastered the art of assessing resumes, calling candidates for potential job opportunities and researching backgrounds.
Soon after graduation, Rachel’s own resume found its way to the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition for Kings. After speaking with multiple candidates for this position, it was immediately recognized upon meeting with Rachel, that she was the perfect match for this new role that Kings was creating, and boy were we right!
Rachel officially joined Kings as a Talent Acquisition Specialist in March of 2016 working directly with the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition. While working together, Rachel quickly and efficiently assisted in the staffing and opening of 3 new locations, King Franklin, Kings Doral, and the Kings in Seaport, while simultaneously supporting eight other locations. To say she was beginning to make her presence known would be an understatement.
As Rachel’s strengths emerged, she was tasked with developing and testing new systems for viability, many of which have proven successful and been adopted companywide. She has a strong passion for efficiency and organization and she works tirelessly to support the stores and all those around her. She never wavers from the “whatever I can do to help” approach, and always works to figure out a way to make something better, faster and stronger or devise a solution that proves successful and is welcomed by all.
To cite a few examples of Rachel’s impact, she has found herself partnering with each department of Kings and has been instrumental in managing of the Kings applicant tracking system, the company’s HTML form builder which is used both internally and externally, quarterly team newsletters, spec books, menu changes, ads for job boards, and much more. Rachel regularly creates in-house hiring fairs and will attend college career fairs in the area to find new talent for Kings. She is well respected by all of her teammates because she is always willing to jump in where needed and work towards achieving the team goals through her support of all. She is an ambassador of the Team Culture Values that Kings stands for.
Today you will find Rachel in her newest role with Kings, Team Compliance and Systems Specialist, a role which is perfectly suited for her continued growth within the organization. She was recognized for her accomplishments and for always jumping in on new projects. Today, Rachel works closely with each location on a near daily basis, whether it be for hiring, action items, shopper reports or culinary and continue to learn and grow to feed her passion for learning how to do new things.
In her spare time, Rachel loves movies, music, books, cooking, her dog and spending time with friends and family in her home in New Hampshire.
